Over the years, we have received numerous customer requests for an epoxy accurizing compound that has a smooth consistency and does not run, drip, or leach out from between wood and metal after being placed in the gun stock. After extensive research and testing, we have developed a modified version of our popular Acraglas that provides an accurate bedding job while meeting those specialized application features. Acraglas Gel uses the latest technological advancements in epoxy research and has the best possible advantages for those who want a butter-smooth type of Acraglas. Nylon derivatives are formulated into Acraglas Gel, providing greater "thin strength," shock resistance, and stability over normal temperature extremes. Acraglas Gel features slightly less shrinkage than that of Acraglas, which has an amazing 1/10th of 1%. The 1-to-1 mixing ratio gives a stable, molecular lattice structure to Acraglas Gel that will not crack, craze, or sugar-out, unlike other 1-to-1 epoxies. This exclusive mixing ratio simplifies mixing and measuring small amounts accurately. Additionally, Acraglas Gel has a slightly longer pot life, giving the user more time when doing the actual bedding. The molecular structure of Acraglas Gel has been controlled to remain slightly flexible for the first few hours after the epoxy sets, making it easy to trim away excess compound. Acraglas Gel also blends readily with atomized aluminum, steel, and stainless steel particles, allowing the user to create their reinforced epoxy whenever such type epoxy is needed. For optimum results, the standard mix is 1 part metal particles-to-3 parts mixed Acraglas Gel by volume. Lastly, Acraglas Gel can be dyed the same as Acraglas to match the characteristics of the gun stock being worked on. The addition of glass floc is not recommended or needed, as the lattice molecular structure of Acraglas Gel already incorporates the advantages of glass floc.
