An extremely rare Unheated Untreated Antique Burmese Ruby from Myanmar. Cut in Sri Lanka. Pear cut. Great red color saturation.
Burmese Rubies are exceedingly more expensive than Rubies from any other locality in the world. Rubies used to be the gemstone of choice for wedding rings before the diamond industry came into the fold. Because of synthetic diamond industry advancements Ruby has now officially become the most expensive readily available gemstone in the world, exceeding that of even diamonds. At least that what I was told by a gemologist in April of 2024.
