two models exist: one with a shorter attached USB cable designed to be used with a MacBook laptop and a second model with a longer attached cable. the drives are identical aside from the length of the cable. this is the model with the longer attached USB cable
The drive has been recently tested and works to both read and write CDs and DVDs. It is only being sold because I have even more in a storage closet.
