1930 antique glass mailbox, George F. Collins and Co."Visible" Glass Mail Box from the 1930's. All original, this still useful antique is from a 100 year old Florida home. A rare find, this beautiful pressed glass mailbox is complete with the original magazine grip, and all the wonderful imperfections of 100 year-old pressed glass. The mail is delivered into the top. The bottom door (when opened) catches the mail! Note: The door latch has a small fissure, but it doesn’t affect the way it works at all.
This item is absolutely lovely to look at. It reminds us of a golden era when things were handmade. Also! This item can be back lit at night, to make it glow and emanate light! The pressed glass features a pigskin/herringbone design on the body, with the word "VISIBLE MAIL" in bold letters embossed on the front. Stunningly elegant and cool item. Very rare to find with the magazine grip intact! I will ship carefully and cautiously. Purchase with confidence.
